Did you know that Compassion International has bloggers go along with them on some of their trips to visit the Compassion children? I first learned about this several years ago when I saw a blog post from the Money Saving Mom about her trip to visit her compassion child.
About a year ago I began sponsoring a Compassion child. My sweet little one is living in Burkina Faso. I fell in love with the country of Burkina Faso years ago while in college and so it was an easy choice for me to choose a precious little one from that country. Burkina Faso has been in the news this past weekend because of several terrorist attacks that have taken place. In fact, a friend of my husband, who is a missionary there in Burkina Faso lost a dear friend in the bombings that happened there. Please be praying for Burkina Faso during this time.
Currently Compassion International is getting ready to head to Ecuador with three bloggers and three of their own staff. The trip starts on January 30th and if you want to follow along, the bloggers will be sharing their experiences as they travel.
I just stopped by these ladies blogs and let me tell you they are beautiful, and packed full of wonderful content. I strongly recommend you head over there and take a look around. These bloggers are:
- Ruth Simons from Gracelaced
- Shannan Martin from Flower Patch Farmgirl
- Ashley Campbell from Under the Sycamore
You can also follow the Compassion International Blog for all that they have going on while they are visiting Ecuador. The dates of their trip are January 30th through February 5th.
If you have been on the fence about supporting Compassion, this is a great opportunity for you to get an insider’s view of what Compassion is all about and what they are actually doing. I know it can be hard to know which organizations to give your money to, so many groups are not using the money donated in a way that honors God.
Compassion International is an organization that has proven itself faithful over the years time and time again as they have faithfully cared for the hundreds of thousands of children that are being sponsored through their program.
Over the past couple of years that I have been sponsoring our Compassion child I have grown very attached to our little one from Burkina Faso. I love getting letters, and learning about how they are doing. It really has been a blessing for me and for my children.
I do encourage you to be sure you are following along with the trip these lovely bloggers are getting ready to take as they head down to Ecuador and visit all the precious Compassion children there.
Can you find just $38 a month to sponsor a child? I hope that the trip these lovely bloggers are making will inspire you to do so. Be sure you head over to Compassion International and take a look around.
