Good Morning everyone. I hope you are all doing well today. Have you been getting ready for Thanksgiving? How does the holiday impact your exercise schedule?
I have had some health flare ups this past week, and so I have to say I have not exercised nearly as much as I had hoped I would. I got about 3 days of exercising done this past week. Three days is a lot less than I had hoped for when I wrote last week’s post, but I am able to say that even though last week wasn’t what I wanted it to be I am seeing some improvement. I am up to 18 minutes on the treadmill, and about that much on the gazelle. I am stronger than I was, even with health issues showing up I am not nearly as weak as I have been in the past several months. My endurance is also growing. I have more strength to do more throughout the day.
I wish I could say I am loosing weight, but the truth is I don’t think I am eating exactly the way I need to, finances limit me in that area at times. Eating the way I should is often more expensive than what we can really afford. Whether I want to admit it or not, it is a limiting factor on my everyday diet. I have had people people say to me, “Well your health is worth the expense”. Perhaps it is, but when the grocery budget is a fix amount and a very small amount at that there is only so much that can be done. I do believe that I can have a healthy diet on the budget we have, it does require more discipline on my part at times.
I am hoping that my strength will be better in the Spring than last year, and maybe my garden will be better tended! (I can grow vegetables at least.)
Even in the midst of financial struggles this verse is still a constant reminder to me. I do what I am doing because my body is God’s. It is something I have stewardship of right now and I need to be diligent and keep working toward the goal that is before me.
To be healthier, stronger, and better able to care for my home and family even with my own Chronic illnesses.
It is really good sometimes to write out your goals. They help to focus your attention and keep your moving in the direction you are working towards and filters away distractions.
So there you have my weekly check-in. How are you doing? Are you working at loosing weight or just trying to maintain your current health? Tell me about it. And as always if you need more advice or tips for exercise head over to Peak313 and see what she is up to this week.
My Fitness Pal is a great tool for tracking food and exercise. I have used it in the past. I am not right now, because I found it to be too much to constantly be recording everything. But if you are looking for tools here is one that I love and recommend.
