Good Morning everyone. I hope you are all doing well today.
I have had a pretty good week in the area of physical activity at least. In the past week I have worked out 4 days out of 7. Perhaps not as good as I should have done, but I am pleased that I was able to do what I did. I even got another day of raking leaves in:
It was such a beautiful day the day I was outside raking. Cool and crisp, just a perfect Fall day. I really enjoyed it. I was on my treadmill the rest of the time. I am finding that some days my endurance has been a little bit better and so I have been able to do a little more. We have had a weather front come through here so I am not as optimistic about this coming week as I want to be. I am tired and not so sure I can push so hard this week with set backs. But I will do what I can do and I will be thankful for that.
I wasn’t as pleased when I got on the scale this morning. I have gained 2lbs. This is often the point in my weight loss journey that I get off track. I have worked a few weeks being intentional and the scale is going in the wrong direction. I have learned that this is usually caused by muscle mass being gained. I still find it discouraging. But I am going to keep moving forward. I want this to be a life change for me and that means perseverance. So today I will exercise, and watch what I put into my mouth. And keep doing the things that help me to be healthy. I am doing this for bigger reasons than just being thinner.
I have kept the verse above in this post as a reminder to me. My body is a Temple and I need to treat it as such. I need to tend it and care for it. As a busy mom it can be hard to do what I need to do to care for my body. There is always more to do, and always more that seems so much more urgent than the things that are really important. A constant battle for me is saying no to some of the Urgent things so that I can say yes to the Important things.
- To keep exercising at least some each day.–I did not exercise everyday. Wednesdays are days I have appointments and I am not at home with my normal schedule. I have not figured out how to work exercise in on some of my Wednesdays.
- To be disciplined in what I put in my mouth.–I did ok in this area on some days. Towards the weekend though I did not do so good. This weekend was my husband’s birthday. I did allow myself to eat a piece of cake, but I ate more on that cake throughout the weekend than I should have.
- To try to memorize some scripture that keeps my eyes on Jesus and being obedient to him.– I have not worked on scripture memorization at all this week. I have been inspired by PEAK313. She will often meditate on scripture while she works out. I have been reading during my workouts instead. I think my reading has been beneficial. I need to find other times when I can work on memorization.
My heart needs to change as much as my body does.

My Fitness Pal is a great tool for tracking food and exercise. I have used it in the past. I am not right now, because I found it to be too much to constantly be recording everything. But if you are looking for tools here is one that I love and recommend.
