Good Morning everyone. I hope you are all doing well today.
I will be honest I have been dreading this week’s weigh in and check in, but now that the scale and tape measure have been consulted I am not feeling too bad. I started this journey about a month ago, and after a nice solid week of physical activity I have really struggled these past three weeks to make time in the day for exercise. I am taking some steps to work on that issue, I will keep you posted on what actually ends up happening there.
So last week I had lost 1 lb.
This week I have lost another 1 lb. As I said that was not due to physical activity, but I have been working on my diet. One thing that I do as part of my daily routine is a breakfast smoothy. I have trouble digesting grains of any kind really but there are a few I tolerate better than others. So I found that putting some frozen fruit into the blender, with water kefir, and some ground flax-seed gives me a great morning breakfast. It is usually a pretty large serving. I would say a little more than a quart of smoothy total. But the fruit is always a good thing, and the water kefir is a great way for me to get my probiotic into my system. ~~I have found that drinking the water kefir has been a huge component to healing my gut frankly. ~~Ahem
I will sometimes add Chia seeds for protein, but I have enjoyed the Flax seed and I am always looking for different sources for Omega 3s.
I have also lost a few inches! I did my body measurements today, I haven’t done them since the beginning of August when I started this journey. The changes are small, but it is a step in the right direction. I believe that someone who has a chronic illness is not usually able to lose weight as quickly as other people in general because of the debilitating nature of chronic disease. I do not want to use that as an excuse, but I do believe that there is a time and a place for slow progress.
So there you have my weekly check-in. How are you doing? Are you working at loosing weight or just trying to maintain your current health? Tell me about it. And as always if you need more advice or tips for exercise head over to Peak313 and see what she is up to this week.
